This creative visual and motor mode of communication can be used to help offer and express meaning in performance of songs and stories. Plus it’s fun!
We will make use of words and vocabulary found in American English in this introductory sign language workshop. Our reference text will be “Signing Exact English” with its more than 4,400 entries. No prior knowledge needed. Students of all ages will learn basic signs through stories and songs!

Free and Open to the public!
Join us for this annual event featuring vendors, hands-on activities, food, community altar and so much more:
COMMUNITY ALTAR
The public is invited to contribute to a Community Altar, on display in the Pombo Lobby on the 2nd floor through Monday, November 3. Participants may deliver or send images of loved ones to celebrate and honor. Favorite foods, toys, poems and special keepsakes are also welcome. Photos can be dropped off at the Arts Education Office at the Grand or emailed to: boxoffice@cityoftracy.org.

Artwork must be self-hanging, framed, or on stretched canvas, with hardware. Submissions are due by Friday, October 24, to be dropped off at the Arts Education Program office on the 2nd floor of the Grand. A special free movie showing will be featured during the event, with two screenings of beloved films. Coco will be shown at 10:30 am, followed by Encanto Sing-Along at 12:30 pm. Both movies are rated PG and are free to attend. These screenings are also Sensory Friendly, with lower volume, dimmed lights, and flexibility for movement, entry, and exit. Sensory items will also be available upon request, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming experience for all attendees.

VENDORS
The Día de Los Muertos Family Day at the Grand will feature a selection of vendors in our indoor mercado. Come support local artists who will be selling their custom Day of the Dead themed pieces including but not limited to sugar skulls, stuffies, dolls, clothing, jewelry, accessories, art and more!

The City of Tracy, in collaboration with the local business district, has created a vibrant network of creative displays and activities as part of this annual event series, which is now in its 9th year.

Sensory-Friendly Valentine’s Day Dance and Craft for those with special needs and/or disabilities
Get ready to dance, create, and share the love at our sensory-friendly Valentine’s Day Dance for those with special needs and/or disabilities!
This sensory-friendly gathering will feature music, adaptive lighting, and a calming atmosphere to ensure a fun and comfortable experience for all.
- Dance Zone – Enjoy a reduced-volume, judgement-free dance floor where everyone can move at their own pace.
- Craft Station – Create a Valentine’s-themed craft with a variety of materials.
- Quiet Corner – A designated calming space will be available for anyone who needs a break.
Whether you are dancing, crafting, or just enjoying the atmosphere, this event is about connection, creativity, and care.
Registration includes entrance to the event for participating individual with special needs and/or disabilities and (1) guardian ages 18+ and older.
*Guardians must be available to assist participant during the entire event.

Join the Arts Education Program on Tuesdays for movement and art classes designed for active adults ages 50 and up! New and on-going activities are announced each month.
Classes take place at the Grand three (3) Tuesdays each month from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm.
