Calling All Young Musicians!

The Grand Theatre Center for the Arts and Main Street Music are excited to be hosting the Youth Battle of the Bands on Saturday, August 1 from 1–5 PM!

This exciting live music competition will showcase talented youth bands (ages 18 and under) from throughout the Tracy-area as they compete for prizes, recognition, and an unforgettable performance opportunity.


How to Apply

Interested bands must complete the online submission form and provide the following information:

  • Band Name
  • Band Members
  • Ages of Members (as of August 1)
  • URL Link to Performance Video
  • Parent/Guardian Phone Number & Email Address

Applications will be accepted through June 26.


Selection Process

A panel will review all submissions and select up to 10 bands to participate in the live event.

Selected bands will be notified by July 6 and will receive a registration link to officially confirm participation.


Registration Information

Participating bands are required to submit a $55 registration deposit at the time of registration.

After successfully completing their performance on August 1, participating bands will receive $50 refunded from their deposit. A $5 processing fee will remain non-refundable.

The Rockett Mafia is a group led by Poison drummer, Rikki Rockett. It has been his vision to create a band steeped in 70’s style Rock ‘N’ Roll, making each song, original or not, feel like they are all part of one record compilation taken to the stage!

 

On Guitar is Stacey Blades, former L.A. Guns guitarist. Brandon Gibbs who fronted Devil City Angels and is part of Joel Hoekstra + Brandon Gibbs project, Ex-Puddle of Mudd  Michael Adams Bassist and of course, Rikki Rockett.

Art Garage Sale

The Arts Education Program is planning an Art Garage Sale for Saturday, April 18th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and we are looking for vendors and/or donations!


Do you have art related materials you would like to get rid of? Supplies you no longer use or items left over from a past hobby? Get rid of them at our Art Garage Sale!


There are two ways to get involved:


  1. Donate the items to the Arts Education Program. Donated items will be sold at the Art Garage Sale at low cost, with 100% of the profit going towards the Arts Education Program. Donated items may be dropped off at the Arts Education Program Office on the second floor of the Grand during our business hours. All items will need to be dropped off by Thursday, April 16th by 5:00 PM for processing.

  1. Sell your own items at the Arts Garage Sale and keep 100% of your profit. If you would like to be a vendor and sell your items during the Art Garage Sale, please email us at boxoffice@cityoftracy.org with an inventory list of the items you would like to sell. We will then send you a link to register to be a vendor. Participation is free.

  • art supplies
  • sheet music or scores
  • storage for art supplies
  • books or magazines
  • original art, any medium
  • videos / dvds / cds

Vendor Participation Policies and Procedures

  • Participation is free.
  • This is a cash only sale and all items must be priced $50 or less.
  • Participants are responsible for processing their own sales and must be present during the entire event.
  • The Grand Theatre Center for the Arts has the right to refuse any participant.
  • Space available for participants is limited. Participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Registration at TracyArtsandRec.com must be completed by Thursday, April 16th at 5:00 pm to participate.
  • Set up will begin at 9:00am on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Unsold items must be taken home at the conclusion of the Art Garage Sale —the Grand closes at 2:00 pm on that day.
  • One chair and one table is provided for each participant. Participants are required to supply any additional display furniture including their own tablecloth if needed.
  • By partaking in the event, participants agree to sell and display items at their own risk.
  • All sales are final.

The Artwalk is a free, self-guided public event featuring local visual and performing artists, community organizations, and vendors in downtown venues and on the sidewalks of Central Avenue near/around the Grand.

The City of Tracy and the local business district collaborate to create a network of creative displays and activities. This annual event series – now in the 9th year – is always fun, interesting, and draws thousands of visitors each summer to historic downtown Tracy!
 
We invite you to meet the artists of our creative community, experience and purchase art, visit with local merchants, enjoy the hospitality of downtown eateries, and be a participant in one of the unique, artful events that make Tracy special. The Artwalk is perfect for a family outing, adventure with friends, or shopping excursion!

Join us for this annual event featuring vendors, hands-on activities, food, community altar and so much more:
 
COMMUNITY ALTAR
The public is invited to contribute to a Community Altar, on display in the Pombo Lobby on the 2nd floor through Monday, November 2. Participants may deliver or send images of loved ones to celebrate and honor. Favorite foods, toys, poems and special keepsakes are also welcome. Photos can be dropped off at the Arts Education Office at the Grand or emailed to: boxoffice@cityoftracy.org.
 
COMMUNITY ART SHOW
A Community Art Show will also be on display beginning October 24 through November 2, on the 2nd floor. Participants of all ages are welcome to submit family-friendly, Día de Los Muertos-themed art in any media suitable for wall display. Artwork must be self-hanging, framed, or on stretched canvas, with hardware. Submissions are due by Wednesday, October 21 or Thursday, October 22, to be dropped off at the Arts Education Program office on the 2nd floor of the Grand. Online registration for submittal can be found here.
 
FREE MOVIES
A special free movie showing will be featured during the event, with two screenings of beloved films. These screenings are Sensory Friendly, with lower volume, dimmed lights, and flexibility for movement, entry, and exit. Sensory items will also be available upon request, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming experience for all attendees. Movie titles and times are to be announced.
 
MERCH FOR SALE
2025 limited edition Día de Los Muertos t-shirts and bags are available for purchase in the Grand Galleries! This unique merchandise features original calavera artwork designed by local artist Paco Garcia. Buy yours in the Grand Art Galleries on the first floor during the event! Select sizes of the 2021 Día de Los Muertos t-shirts will be for sale.
 
VENDORS
The Día de Los Muertos Family Day at the Grand will feature a selection of vendors in our mercado. Come support local artists who will be selling their custom Day of the Dead themed pieces including but not limited to sugar skulls, stuffies, dolls, clothing, jewelry, accessories, art and more!

FOOD
Food Trucks will be available on 7th street next to the corner of Central Avenue just outside the Grand. Please come support these local food vendors. 
 
ARTWALK
This event is also being held in conjunction with the Downtown Tracy Artwalk, a free, self-guided public event that showcases local artists and community organizations along the sidewalks of Central Avenue in front of the Grand. The City of Tracy, in collaboration with the local business district, has created a vibrant network of creative displays and activities as part of this annual event series, which is now in its 10th year.
 
CRAFTS & PHOTOS OPPORTUNITIES
